Brief characteristics of the sport of skibob snowbiking:

The birth of the skibob/snowbike dates back to the 18th century. The inventors of the actual skibob/snowbike were the German Georg Gfäller and the Austrian Engelbert Brenter, who brought their devices onto the market independently of each other. They developed skibobs/snowbikes whose basic principles are also used in modern devices. Today’s skibob/snowbike is a technically and qualitatively advanced piece of sports equipment. The alpine sport of skibob/snowbike has a tradition of over 50 years. Technological progress in the skibob/snowbike sector (e.g. waisted skis, improved technology) has brought major changes over the years and skibob/snowbike riding has also become a recreational sport among young people. Skibob/snowbike racing as a competition has been accorded great importance both internationally and nationally for years.

With around 17 nations and 130 participants in world championships, half of whom are schoolchildren and young people, the sport of skibob/snowbike is well accepted.
